The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: an ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”
When those we love pass away, their deeds stop — except for the ongoing charity they left behind, or that we give on their behalf. And few charities last longer than a mosque where prayers are held and a well that quenches the thirsty. Every prayer offered, every verse recited, every sip of water and every wudu brings reward to you and to the one you dedicate it to, for as long as the mosque stands and the water flows.
In remote villages across Africa and Asia, hundreds of Muslims have no mosque to gather in and no clean water for wudu or drinking. We are raising donations to build a complete mosque and dig a water well beside it, at a total cost of $20,000.
Make your donation an ongoing charity for your father, your mother, or any loved one you have lost, so that every prayer and every drop of water carries unending reward for them, insha'Allah.
You can also donate any other amount you choose — every donation brings the mosque and the well closer to completion.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” And when asked which charity is best, he said: “Giving water to drink.”
